Want your guide on eve-guides.com? Send me a mail with a link to your guide (if it's on EVE-O) or hosted elsewhere and I will happily give credit where credit is due. There are a lot of really good guides on EVE-O forums which I have tried to contact the original authors and received no response, this maybe due to them no longer playing EVE. |
| Game Time Codes and EVE-Online Trial Accounts, both these can be purchased using the graphics to the right, they will generate income for myself and will not cost you anymore than normal. These will help me keep the site afloat and running, so please when you buy either use the links to the right. |

It's been a while.....
It's been a while since I updated anything, this is because I've been busy with work and unable to do much. Since becoming unbusy :) I've been concentrating in one area that numerous people have been asking for.... Booster production guide.
Whilst making the actual boosters is easy enough, trying to find out where the bits come from that you need is proving more troublesome. If anyone can help me out here, please send me a screenshot and information (to the email adress link above) on where to get booster BPCs, the gas mining skill and mining beam. I will reward you well, but please enclose a screenshot, you may blank out any sensitive stuff.
Update: I know you get the items from Radar sites but where in the sites, do rats drop them, are they hacked from structures or....
Beginners Guide to Tanking
Has been added to "other" section with permission of it's author Friedrick Psitalon
Upcoming Jump Freighter changes
Just in case you missed the post on EVE-O forums the new Jump Freighters are up for some DEV loving, subject to change (because they haven't been officially announced yet), here are the changes:
- all jump freighters are getting a 25% base cargo capacity increase.
- all jump freighters are getting a 10% bonus to shield, armor and hull hitpoints per Jump Freighter skill level.
- the speed bonus has been changed to a 5% agility bonus per racial freighter skill level.
- the fuel needs reduction has been increased from 5% to 10% per Jump Freighter skill level.
- The max production runs on jump freighter blueprints will be increased from 1 to 10.
Good news for the most expensive industrial ship in EVE.
Research Alt Guide
Added a guide for making a research alt to milk datacore ISK, a good use for those 2nd and 3rd account slots, check it out in the Other section.
New Section - Corporation + in-game requests
I've been inundated with requests to add in a Corporation section, this will take some time to complete as managing a Corp is a long and in depth process. What I have done so far is how to create a corp and includes a FAQ and hangar and wallet renaming in the video.
I am getting a fair few requests in game on different subjects, I will answer and have replied where I can. I am sorry to those of you asking how to set up a death star POS, these people I have not replied to and the answer as to why is simple, when I did give guidelines on setting up a POS to a corp and then that corp lost their POS they blamed me for it. I cannot give you a death star POS set up or an unbeatable set up because there simply isn't one. If an attacking force comes for your POS set up to tackle it correctly then YOU must defend it, the POS cannot alone.
Trinity Item Database
What was released by CCP is up and in place in the item database .... enjoy!!
Labs - Invention & POSs
I've populated the Invention section with an introduction, it will be expanded over the next few days. I've also replaced how to use POS labs, this includes ME research, Copying and Invention. This video now has subtitles :) so it's much better explanation of the process.
Update
Updates, I've started adding small updates to the site and since they are small updates I won't be including these on the list to the right (under the EVE logo), so check back regularly to see if anything is new.
OMG, w00t, drool .... Trinity Website up and running
If you haven't already seen it the official EVE-Online Trinity website is up and running. Check out the interviews for some insight into what's coming and what has gone off.
Also I would like to point out that no more content is likely to be added to eve-guides until Trinity is released. Since Trinity is a MAJOR release it is going to chnage quite a lot of things within EVE.
Website Change + stuff™
Unless you are a new visitor to EVE-Guides you will have probably noticed by now a second set of tabs appeared (if you don't see them reload). I am going to expand and not by a little bit but by a lot. Most of the new tabs are under construction so you will not find a whole lot of information in them with the exception of one.
Halada's most excellent Mining guide has taken the whole mining section and it has taken me several days work to rework it into the template. I was so happy when Halada gave me permission to host his guide, then transforming it back into HTML caused all sorts of coding issues to which now I've managed to sort out. It's still too wide for the template in some places but I will be sorting those out. I hope to be able to keep this updated with any updates Halada makes to his original guide.
Oops.... by putting in the new tabs I've accidentally put in the index pages of what I am currently working on - the exploration section. Only the index page is currently in so not a lot of point going there.
Finally a note to Opera browser users, I am aware that the second row of tabs shows up half buried on Opera, I'm working on it.....
Trinity Upgrade
With Trinity on the horizon I'm in a state of flux as to what to do at the moment. Any new guide I make will most likely get changed within the next couple of months and I will probably end up having to do them again.
But saying that I want to keep adding content, with this in mind I will be adding new guides to the "other" section related to different parts of the game. All these guides will be done on Sisi (test server) on the current build of Trinity.
Eve-Online Outage - 19th Oct 07
You might have noticed that the whole of EVE is down and out (webservers, TQ, all test servers). The only news I can give you is a message from Wrangler (EVE Community Manager):
<Wrangler> speaking of that, since we have so many prominent community members here, would you guys mind going to any corporation or alliance forums or sites you guys use and post this: "We performed a emergency shutdown of TQ and SQL Servers, no ETA for TQ to get back up."
<Wrangler> I really have no ETA for this to be sorted, for all I know it could be in a few minutes or tomorrow or whatever.
Regardless of what you might hear on Community forums and IRC chat channels I am informed there will be absolutely NO rollback of any sorts.
19:00 UK Time - Update: I'm about to go out for the evening so unfortunately I cannot keep you updated with anymore news.
Update: It appears TQ came back up around 22:00 last night and explanation of what happened is here.
Item Database added & HTML to PHP
Thanks goes to Chruker for coming up with the item database (I seriously haven't a clue how to do SQL stuff). Check it out on the new tab above, a bit of warning though it is still under construction and in some places doesn't fit right yet.
The transition from html to php pages is complete, this does mean if you
bookmarked any specific page it's likely to have gone, sorry about that but
moving to php pages makes this site much MUCH easier to manage.
